(Prime Minister of Jordan) The Prime Minister of Jordan issued a statement mandating the rationaliztion of consumption and control of spending in all government agencies. The use of government vehicles is prohibited outside of official use during work hours, as well as the use of air conditioning or heating in government buildings.
Pursuant to the statement, the Prime Minister decided to prohibit the use of government vehicles except for official purposes, and to prohibit their use outside official working hours, while canceling all previous approvals and exceptions in this regard. The statement included a suspension of official delegations and committees traveling abroad for a period of two months from its date, except in cases of utmost necessity, and only for justified reasons with prior approval from the Prime Minister. It also included a suspension of hosting official delegations and a reduction in expenses for official banquets for a period of two months, from its date. The statement further stipulated a prohibition on the use of air conditioners and any other heating means in ministries, public institutions, and government departments.
