United States National Average Gasoline Price Most Expensive Since 2022

The national average price of gasoline in the United States, as of the time of this article, is $3.884 according to AAA. Also according to AAA, the national average price one year ago was $3.102. Prior to that, the highest national average was in 2022 from April to the end of October, where it peaked at $5/gal.

Prior to 2022, the average price of gasoline was higher than today’s in September of 2012 at $3.91/gal. Gas prices peaked in 2022 due to the pandemic and the Ukraine War started by Russia.
